Use these materials when the wire splicing will be seized in a traditional fashion
(see page 127 for instructions). Note that tarred nylon twine shrinks when wet or
hot. Also, I prefer wooden measuring sticks over measuring tape, but they’re
hard to find these days. The wire shown here can also be used on any modern
sailboat.
