Message from Our President

I want to thank you for the opportunity to be your 2018 President. We
have had many great Presidents that have come before me, and I am very
humbled to have the honor of being your President.
I would like to thank my family and the Vision Design + Build team for
supporting me throughout the years, and as I begin to serve as President of
the Greater San Antonio Builders Association. Lastly, Thank You GSABA staff
and our Members who make this Association great.
I have learned so much from serving on the Executive Committee for the
past three years. The Presidents who have served before me have had
exceptional accomplishments, and I have some big shoes to fill. We have
had wise predecessors that created our ladder system for us to learn
from and to prepare us for just this moment. Wayne Moravits has been a

President great Presidential role model and I hope to uphold that tradition during
my presidency.
Growing our membership is a top priority in 2018. GSABA has accomplished
a great deal over the past few years and I want to continue the momentum of our Membership Committee. The
Association will team up with the Texas Association of Builders in April and May next year on a statewide membership
drive with the Oliver Group. This membership campaign was held 10 years ago at TAB with local associations and
resulted in 2,400 new members statewide in one day! I will be reaching out to you to ask for your support, and to
attend the training in April and participate in the May Membership drive.
GSABA continues to make a difference on the local, state and national levels and I am proud of our past
accomplishments. Government Affairs is one of the Board of Directors’ priorities and we plan to expand our efforts
in 2018. After serving on the Building Related and Fire Appeals Board for the City of San Antonio, I want to encourage
each of you to apply for and seek appointments to Committees, Councils and Task Forces that make the rules and
regulations for the residential construction and development industry. Serve as the subject matter experts that you
are and help build the future of San Antonio.
We have pledged not to increase membership dues on the local level in 2018, but this means we will all need to pull
together to make our events more profitable and increase membership. I want to challenge all of you, especially our
new Board members, to make a time investment in recruiting members in your business network.

I ask you to get involved by joining a committee, council or a special event committee. The Sales and Marketing
Council and the Young Professional Leadership Committee are poised to grow to new heights in 2018, and hope your
company will be a part.
The future of GSABA is bright and with your continued support, our Association will grow and become more
relevant in the 20 counties that we serve. I ask for prayers that we have a successful year and I give thanks to God for
this opportunity. Thank you for your placing your confidence in me.
