“As Chairwoman the past year for the Education Foundation, I
have the privilege of meeting with my fellow Trustees to review and
approve the overall program, scholarship awards and community
service projects. The Trustees read and discuss every scholarship
application to learn more about the candidates. There is such a need
for programs like ours and we are fortunate to have the support of
so many GSABA members. My fellow Trustees are John Friesenhahn
with Imagine Homes, Mike Hollaway with Hollaway Custom Homes,
Jim Leonard with Greenboro Homes, and George McNair with McNair
Custom Homes. Parrish & Co. has always been a proud supporter of
GSABA, and last year my family pledged $5,000 to the Greater San
Antonio Education Foundation because we truly believe in the vision
Kelly Parrish Walker and mission of the foundation. There are students who apply for these

scholarships from all walks of life which inspires us at Parrish every day
to keep working hard and do our part, so they will have opportunities
in this industry moving forward.”

“I have had the pleasure of serving as a Trustee for the Greater San
Antonio Education Foundation for the past few years and I am proud
of what we have been able to accomplish together. At our last Trustee
meeting, we discussed ways to raise additional funds. I mentioned
to my business partner, Jim Bastoni, we should make a pledge to the
Foundation and he wholeheartedly supported the idea. We will be
donating 1% of the sales price of a home we are building in Mahncke
Park. We want to do our part to help fund scholarships as well as
community service projects. I urge every Builder and Associate member
John Friesenhahn to consider making a similar pledge. Together, we can help build our
Imagine Homes
future workforce and impact lives here in the San Antonio area.”

We will kick off our BUILDING OUR FUTURE GIVING CAMPAIGN for the Greater San Antonio Education
Foundation in mid-July. There are so many ways you can give to the Foundation. We need speakers
to sign up for the Fall Semester at St. Philip’s College and UTSA. Call me at 210-696-3800 if you can
volunteer a few hours of your time. The Student Chapters desperately need building supplies and
tools, especially lumber! If it is possible to make a financial pledge, it will allow us to expand our
efforts and our reach in San Antonio and across the 19 counties that we serve.
I want to personally thank the men, women and our member companies who have donated to the
Education Foundation and the Charity House. TOGETHER, we truly make a difference!
