Bowline knots are used when you need a secure, non-slip
loop at the end of a line, for example when mooring a boat
or attaching a safety line. The round-turn bowline (often
referred to as a double bowline) forms a more secure loop
that the regular bowline. It also has an advantage over the
figure-of-eight knot as it is easier to untie after the knot has
been subjected to pressure. BowlInes and Bends

                                         round behind the
                                         standing part, then tuck
                                         it back down through the
                                         loops made in Step 2.

                                         Tighten the knot by
                                         holding the standing
                                         part and pulling on the
                                         working end.
