Slipped buntline hitch







  The buntline hitch (see pages 212–213) is so secure that it can be awkward to untie. Adding a

  quick-release drawloop overcomes the difficulty.


  Tie the orthodox buntline hitch (1, 2, 3), and then simply turn the working end back alongside
  itself to finish the knot (4).
