Grinner knot

This is a very reliable knot, which can be used to attach most types (and sizes) of line to hooks,

  sinkers, and swivels.

Pass the end of the line through the eye of the hook or metal item and bring it back alongside the
standing part (1). Take the end forward once more and begin a series of wrapping turns, through
the loop and enclosing the two line parts (2, 3). Tug the grinner tight (4) and snip off the tag end

  close to the knot.
