The one on the right is the one you'll almost always use. It selects a rectangular
area. The star shaped one is trickier.
The Rectangular Selection Tool
You use this tool when you want to move something to a different part
of the drawing.
You also use it if you want two or more copies of the same thing.
A third thing you can use it for is to draw or write with a small part of
your painting.
Last, you can use it to delete an area.
The Freehand Selection Tool
You'll only need to use this tool if you want to copy something that's in an
awkward position.
Creating Paint File
1. Click on the Rectangle tool and draw the size of the proposed card.
2. Click on the Ellipse tool and draw six (or more) balloons of different
sizes.
