Data being typed appears in both the active cell and Formula bar.
Click on the Enter Key or the Arrow Keys to move to the next cell.

NB; Excel's AutoComplete feature keeps track of previously entered text. If
the first few characters you type in a cell match an existing entry in that column,
Excel fills in the remaining characters for you.

               Automatic (Serial) Numbering

Unlike like Word, Excel does not provide button to number data automatically.
But you can easily add sequential numbers to rows of data by dragging the fill
handle a column with series of numbers or using the row function.

Fill a row or column with a series of numbers
               To do this:

                      1. Select the first cell in the range that you want to fill (e.g. A3).
                      2. Type the starting value for the series (e.g. 1 in A3).
                      3. Type a value in the next cell to establish a pattern (e.g. 2 in A4). [Tip:
For example, if you want the series 1, 2, 3, 4, 5..., type 1 and 2 in the
first two cells. If you want the series 2, 4, 6, 8..., type 2 and 4.]
                      4. Select the cells that contain the values (e.g. A3 and A4)

                      5. Drag the fill handle across the range that you want to fill (e.g.
                         A3:A10).
