NB: As you drag the fill handle across each cell, Excel displays a preview of the
value. If you want a different pattern, drag the fill handle by holding down the
right-click button and then choose a pattern.

Alternative A
1. Select the first cell in the range that you want to fill. (e.g. A3)
1. Type the starting value for the series. (e.g. type 1 in A3)
2. Hold down the Ctrl key.
3. Drag the fill handle across the range that you want to fill. (e.g.
A3:A10)

Alternative B
2. Select the first cell in the range that you want to fill. (e.g. A3)
3. Type the starting value for the series. (e.g. type 1 in A3)

4. Select the range. (e.g. A1 to A9)
5. Click on Edit on the Menu Bar.
6. Point to fill.
7. Click on series.
8. Enter the step value (e.g. 1).
9. Enter the end value (e.g. 7).

10. Click OK.
