THE REVIEW
  JABALPUR, MADHYA PRADESH
Annual Picnic
picnic was organized for the Jabalpur branch members on 3 February
2019 at Kosumghat. Thanks to branch Vice President Denzil Paul, and Charlotte and Elvis Paul, who kindly allowed us to have the picnic at their farmhouse. The ambience was wonderful, with a river running by the farmhouse.
Since the picnic spot was fifteen kilometres from town, a bus was arranged for members to travel there together. Breakfast was served to everyone when they arrived. There were two boats for boating. Members enjoyed playing games such as tombola and housie. A sumptuous lunch was served to all. Tea and snacks were served in the evening before we hopped on to the bus.
ELVIS PAUL - NOW A PROUD PhD
The Jabalpur branch of his achievement and
congratulates Elvis
Denzil Paul for being awarded a PhD in Education on 14 March 2019 at Rani Durgavati Vishwavidyala, Jabalpur. Anandiben Patel, her Excellency, the Governor of Madhya Pradesh and Chancellor, presided over the function. Elvis is the
only son of Charlotte and Denzil Paul. His parents, wife Rashi, and the Anglo- Indian community are proud
thank God for his blessings. Elvis is the Vice President of the Jabalpur branch and is also an Assistant Lecturer
at St Paul’s BEd College, Jabalpur. He is always reaching out to the Anglo- Indian youth interested in the field of education. He has made our branch proud and we wish him all success in his future endeavours.
RAJAHMUNDRY, ANDHRA PRADESH Rajahmundry Branch revived after nine years
Thanks to the initiative taken by our President-in-Chief and our MLA and GB Member we are back in the family and raring to go. Dr Tocher’s presence and words of wisdom at our meeting were just the boost we needed.
We have about 160 Anglo-Indians in the city. As many as 90 of them were present at our meeting with Dr Tocher. The newly formed Branch Ad-Hoc Committee comprises:
President: Clinton Parrie, a teacher; Vice President: Lawrence Bunyan,
a deep-sea welder on an oil field; Secretary: Mary Parrie, a teacher; Treasurer: Sandra Lowe, a teacher; Committee Members: Natasha Glover, a teacher; Michael Williams, an employee in a private firm; and Zeandra Rafferty, a student.
Do keep us in your prayers as we
get down to work by uniting the community, having events and working for the welfare of our elders and a bright future for our youth.
ajahmundry had an active branch till a decade ago. We are delighted to inform all our friends in other branches and well-wishers in India and abroad that on 16 March 2019 the
Rajahmundry Branch of The All-India Anglo-Indian Association was revived with Dr Philip Tocher, MLA and Governing Body Member in-charge of Andhra Pradesh, in the chair.
In the middle of last year, we got to know that the President- in-Chief Mr Barry O’Brien was doing his best to revive branches as well as form new ones. Thanks to WhatsApp,
we were soon in regular touch with him. As we were getting to know about how active the Association was becoming across the country, we too wanted to get back into action. Mr O’Brien assured us that we would be welcomed with open arms once again into the fold.
