STIRLING SENIORS CLUB 55 A YEAR IN REVIEW
2023 marked a change of Executive after many years. Newly voted in President Robin Bitton / Vice President Eleanor
Scott / Treasurer Doug Stewart and Secretary Eileen Wilson along with Executive members at Large John Murray /
Dale Redding / Beth Sedore / Joan Belanger and Chris Cheesman, stepped up for the challenge and
organized and ran the club beautifully.
In May, Club 55 celebrated 35 years in partnership with the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 228. During 2023, our club
has continued to enjoy our chicken potlucks, chinese lunches and yearly summer event. With monies collected this year
and pre-covid, our club was lucky enough to be able to have a choice of two events this year, Napanee boat cruise with a
lovely lunch on the terrace or Stirling theatre with lovely lunch upstairs at the Burrell Hall.
We had a beautiful Christmas lunch Dec. 13th catered by the United Church in Stirling. After lunch we returned to the
Legion for a fun afternoon of Christmas draws, euchre and a surprise visit from Santa Claus. The executive is looking
forward to suppling more fun in 2024. With continued advertising in News on 7, Community Press and Facebook we have
grown the club by more than 12 new members.
We will always welcome guests 50 and older so they can enjoy the same fun we do year after year! Club 55 would like to
thank the following local businesses for their support of our club. Amanda and Jayson from Tim Hortons, Carol from
Cafe 23 and Roely from Beautiful Things for Charities. They support our activities so we ask you to please support them!
