Welcome to Tech Talk 2023.
2022 was definitely a year of more and more hacked computers along with lost $$$$
for the end user. The infamous Microsoft pop-up directing the user to call a phone
number is still on the go and continues to trick many people. People please, please do
not fall for this, this is a scam and all they want is your hard-earned money. Speaking of which the latest they are asking for
is Amazon gift cards or money transfers through Canada Post. Yes, they are getting smarter, these funds you use to
purchase gift cards or transfer through another company are not retrievable in any way shape or form. Please do not do
this, keep your hard-earned money.

Let’s make 2023 a year where we keep our $$$$ and not unwillingly hand over to crooks. If you are stuck and your
computer is locked on a screen you cannot get out of, simply shut your computer off manually. Push the power button until
it turns off. You can then turn it back on and proceed as normal. If after that you are still encountering issues, bring it in
and we will sort it out for you.
