MUNICIPALITY OF
CENTRE HASTINGS
On December 3rd, 2022, local communities were presented with cheques raised from the storm relief hockey game in Centre
Hastings.
Three neighboring communities were presented with cheques today with a total of $750 each. The Madoc & District
Recreation Centre Arena hosted a fundraiser game in early October when Frankford Huskies took on the Port Hope Panthers
to raise funds for these affected communities.
The fundraiser raised a grand total of $2,200 from the storm relief game and proceeds have been divided three ways. The
Municipality of Centre Hastings was not deeply effect compared its neighboring Townships and Municipalities.
Mayor Deline noted, “This is what small communities are all about, helping each other when we are dealing with difficult
situations. This is not a lot of money, but every bit helps, and we know the money will be placed where it benefits the
community the most.”
Mayor Deline thanked all those who supported and made this fundraiser happen.
In attendance for today’s presentation were Deputy Mayor Sanford & Councillor McLaughlin of The Municipality of Centre
Hastings, Councillor Palmateer of The Municipality of Tweed, Nancy Sinclair from the Municipality of Marmora & Lakes,
Frankford Huskie players Heiden & Karsten Leonard, Phoenix Smith, Tyler Sawkins, Mayor Blackburn of Madoc Township and
Mayor Deline of the Municipality of Centre Hastings.
