Success Made Simple with YEP!

It is with great pleasure to introduce Molly Lacktin and Hayden Preston, young entrepreneurs for the month
of November. Welcome Molly and Hayden to the YEP!

Two years after they presented Centre Hastings People Helping People with a cheque totalling over $2400, Molly Lacktin
and Hayden Preston, the organizations’s junior volunteers, were back in the boardroom.
Wanting to help and maybe spread a little cheer, they reopened their roadside Snack Shack in historic White Lake on
Mother’s Day weekend with a contactless flower shop. Gone was every bloom from mom’s garden and handmade cards
they had designed spreading messages of hope. Father’s Day weekend did not disappoint with butter tarts and fresh
strawberry cream cheese pastries. Summer weekends featured pulled pork sliders, sweet and sour chicken balls and fried
rice, meatball sandwiches and early mornings with more tarts, lattes, and cinnamon rolls.

Truly grateful for the generous support they received from the
community and beyond and Grammy’s help in the kitchen, these
twelve year olds gained many valuable lessons, connected with some
amazing people, developed a social media strategy, and shared some
laughs in the process.
On October 9th, they shocked Centre Hastings People Helping
People with a whopping $3801.65 in donations. They are so pleased
to know their efforts will be able to help many within our
communities especially during this time when the pandemic has
introduced additional economic hardships and insecurities.
Molly and Hayden would really like to thank everyone for their
encouragement and generosity. They had a blast sharing the
experience with you and are already looking forward to what they
can do to help next.
