Madoc Legion Branch 363

Being a long time member of the chamber, the Chamber would like to give Branch 363 a HUGE SHOUT OUT of
THANKS for the all they do for the community of Centre Hastings!

THE LEGION SERVES ALL VETERANS
The Royal Canadian Legion was founded by Veterans and for Veterans. We advocate for the care and benefits
for all who served Canada, regardless of when or where they served. The Legion also provides representation
and assistance to Veterans, including currently serving Canadian Armed Forces and RCMP, and their families,
and access to our services is available to them at no cost, whether or not they are Legion members. The Legion
helps thousands of Veterans each year and makes significant positive changes in their lives.
THE LEGION SERVES OUR COMMUNITIES AND OUR COUNTRY
Legion Branches are the cornerstone of communities across Canada, and provide one of the largest volunteer bases in the
country. With 1,350 Branches from coast to coast to coast, our members provide local services and supports to build a stronger
Canada. Whether helping local Veterans, supporting seniors, providing youth sports programs, raising funds, volunteering to
help those in need, or simply offering a place to gather for fun and celebration, Legionnaires provide essential services in their
communities.
YOUTH EDUCATION
The Legion encourages Canadian schools to promote Remembrance Day
Ceremonies, and local Branches are often involved in supporting those
ceremonies. Remembrance is also promoted through the Legion’s school-aged
poster and literary contests. These contests see more than 100,000 students each
year honour Canada’s Veterans through creative art and writing. As well, the
Legion distributes Poppies and educational materials, and offers schools the
opportunity to have a speaker share stories and experiences about Veterans and
Remembrance with the children.
Other local activities include:
Commemorative ceremonies for youth
Legion Youth Auxiliaries coordinated at the Branch level
Support for Cadets, Scouts and Guides to strengthen their leadership and
growth
Partnership with Cadets to deliver Poppy campaign
LAWN SIGNS Encourage youth participation in Remembrance ceremonies
These beautiful Lawn Signs are Youth scholarship and bursary programs, coordinated at the Branch level
available at the Legion for the 2021
Poppy Campaign - ONLY $20 each. If Local schools have received the Poster & Literacy packages, for anyone who
you are unable to come to the Legion, Home Schools or online and would like to submit an entry call Jennifer Reid,
