HOME OFFICES
HLA has staff located across the State of Tennessee, in Alabama and in Florida. We love the opportunities that are available to our staff. Staff working out of town and in Home Offices will be provided with a Cell Phone or a Desk Phone for their office. An annual office allowance is paid each year in August to help offset equipment, repairs, internet service and other job-related expenses.
We expect staff working from their home office will have a consistent schedule and keep in contact with other staff to inform of availability and time off.
We expect that home office staff will follow all procedures as if working in the office and maintain productivity.
Any equipment of value provided by HLA will need to be inventoried and signed off on by Administration and the home office staff.
TELECOMMUTING
HLA considers telecommuting a viable option for office staff when needed. Office staff are hired to work in the office and are expected to be in the office on a regular basis. Telecommuting allows staff to be able to work from home or on the road in cases where they might not otherwise be able to make it into the office or when working additional hours over and beyond their normal schedules. Working from home should be for need over convenience or want.
Working from home is a privilege that is earned. Staff must be employed a minimum of 90 days and have acceptable work performance to be eligible to work from home unless otherwise approved due to need or position.
It is essential that if you need to work from home that you coordinate with your team and in-office staff to be certain there are staff availableintheoffice. Havingacounselor in office at any given time is very important as we have families come into the office regularly. Having at least two staff in the front office area as a general rule is needed, typically one counselor and one admissions staff. Use good judgment and work out these details prior to scheduling work from home.
