Why should you be considered?
I have been a HomeLife Academy student since my kindergarten year in 2004. During that time, I have been active in church, nursing home events, scouting events, 4- H events, community fundraisers, and in community theatre productions.
I love to sing and perform, and homeschooling has given me the opportunity to follow my passion for the performing arts. I have been a performer in eighteen community theatre productions, including shows at the Dixie Carter Performing Arts Center, Nite Lite Theatre, Crockett County Youth Theatre, and Jackson Theatre Guild. In addition to performing, I have also volunteered as a stage technician, music director, director's assistant, and a judge for community theatre productions and talent shows.
I have been a member of Union University Youth Chorus for four years and the JSCC Innovation Ensemble for one year. I have enjoyed participating in All Northwest Honor Choir for the last four years and All State Honor Choir for the last three years.
In June 2016, I attended the TN Governor’s School for the Arts, which was the best experience of my life. Not only did I gain a huge amount of music knowledge and experience, but I had the experience of meeting so many amazing people, students, performers, and teachers. These friendships will last a lifetime.
I have always felt honored to call myself a homeschooler. I have enjoyed the challenges, opportunities, and freedom that homeschooling has given me. I am thankful that I have been able to spend time doing what I love, while making a difference in my community.
