Why should you be considered?
Growing up in a modest home, with periods of extreme financial adversity, has also shaped me. I have learned what is important in life – the things that money does not buy. It has also given me focus and a desire to do my best to prepare myself financially. Because my father is still rebuilding his career after a tragic accident, I have had the opportunity to help my family financially. Starting my own business at 15 after numerous employment rejections due to my age has allowed me to be in a place to contribute.
Not having my employment plans go as I had expected or wanted resulted in a huge positive experience in my life. I don’t know that I would have ever considered owning my own business at 15 if it hadn’t been for those rejections. I have a strong work ethic and will work hard at my academics to continue my high GPA.
The funding of my education is solely my responsibility due to a tragic accident in my family. Being selected for a scholarship will relieve some of the financial burden for finding ways to fund my education. I will make use of these funds to enhance my education so that one day I can help others become entrepreneurs and find ways to do what they love to do. Thank you so much for considering me for this opportunity.
