to the school all year for teachers and students. From our team, to name a few, Mark O’Connell & Teddy Donnachie have been instrumental in the success of this year. Both lead many activities at the school, visiting weekly, and that has really led us
to the position we
are in nearing year
end. Many amazing
individuals have really been the key to success this year!
The toughest part of this job has to be making the decision
of who the team partners with for the coming year. Choosing
a charity to work with is by far the hardest part for us all. It’s
a tough week, we narrow down the nominations based on
how well they meet our criteria and then we meet with the shortlisted charities for a presentation. Based on that the team make a very tough decision via vote, as to who we should partner with. The partnership is vitally important to the success of the year ahead. It’s not a decision we have ever taken lightly, and it really does make a lasting impression, all charities need support of course, but narrowing it down is never easy! It’s a tough couple of days for the team making this decision, but one that we do together, it’s one we look forward to also as it means new partnerships and a new year ahead.
are or even if plates are already full, linking in with the team always gives us a lift. The comradery, jokes and positivity in the team is really what makes this more of a passion than a ‘job’. For many years to come we hope for the continued support of the site, our leaders and for people to get involved in what really is a demonstration of our responsibility to our community and the commitment of our site to want to help, progress and achieve year on year! there is lots more to come from CSR, so get involved, give back and get ready to be part it!
Hands on work at St.Paul’s

My favourite part of the job is working with the team, they are “a great rowdy bunch. People take on CSR work in addition to
their full-time role with DePuy and no matter how busy people
The CSR Team Experience
“To me, the CSR team provides us with an opportunity to help a charity with the resources and expertise we have onsite that they wouldn’t be able to avail of otherwise. From simple things like painting a room to supporting the charity with events they are holding, I think we don’t realise what a difference this can make to them”

“After every CSR event I have completed, the first
thing that always comes to my mind is the power of
the human spirit. Families with kids with special needs always have a smile on their face and work tirelessly
to support their family. If me giving a few hours of
my time to help them in a small way can make a difference, then it is time well spent and I receive so much in return. Spending time with my work colleagues for fun and rewarding activities is a privilege”.
Claire Daly, over 5 years with CSR
“I’ve been part of the CSR Team for 18 years...I look forward to the meetings, always great fun and banter
but most of all working with a lovely group of likeminded people who recognise how good we have it in DePuy and want to leverage that position to give back to others who need our help! The Team is always happy to go above and beyond to meet our targets and aim high”
Philomena Smiddy, 18 years with CSR
“To me, CSR means going out of ‘your’ way to make a positive difference in our community. I find great pleasure using knowledge/ skills outside of work that would
have gone to waste to make that positive difference. I
am amazed at what the team achieves when focused on a common goal and admire everyone on the team that takes that time to make things appear from thin air. With the limited time I can afford, I find great value and inspiration from being part of the team”
Evans Chikarakara, 2 years with CSR
“This being my first year in the CSR group and seeing the joy it has brought to this year’s charity has been very enjoyable. The aptitude for everyone in this group to go above and beyond in terms of supporting the chosen charity but also other initiatives is something to be very proud of.” - Jill Woods, 1 year at CSR
