What is your current Role?
I currently work within the principal Inventory costing CoE within the profit in inventory governance team. My main duties would include calculating the profit in inventory as it moves throughout our supply chain for CMF, Power Tools, Trauma, Synthes Spine and Mentor franchises.
How long have you been working with J&J, have you had any other roles?
I’ve been working with J&J for three years. After studying a masters in
corporate finance, I joined J&J as part of the graduate program
in the finance department. The program gave me the opportunity to work on the intercompany transactional team, manufacturing finance
team as well as the financial planning and analysis group.
Have you faced any challenges in your current role?
Currently I’m studying to be a chartered accountant. Probably the most challenging aspect of my role is balancing work with lectures and study.
Why did you decide to get involved with Óige?
I joined the group while on the graduate program. I was interested to network with people who worked outside of the HMD sector with Johnson & Johnson. Óige gives me
a unique opportunity to collaborate across campus Ireland and work on
projects outside of the finance realm.
What advice would you give someone starting out in J&J?
Build relationships across different sectors within the business and take ownership of your own career.
Why do you think J&J staff who
are early in their career should get involved with Óige?
Óige is platform for you to learn more about J&J and the people who make up the company. It has been a great opportunity to see what happens across other sites. Allowing me to meet people from many different backgrounds and different experiences. Óige is an active group and is always evolving. As we’ve moved to a more virtual world, I’ve been impressed with how the group has pivoted to provide career talks and virtual site tours.
