On April 9, 2017, at the location of 2757 E. 79th St., Officers Wajdy Ebeidalla and Adrian Lopez, assigned to Bt 411R, and Officers Jeremy Rice and Solodine Jack- son, assigned to Bt 422R, were patrolling in the area when they heard a loud crash believed to be an auto accident.
The officers immediately activated their BWC and emergency equipment and responded to the scene. Upon arrival, the
officers observed a female occupant who was semiconscious and unable to get out of her vehicle, which had become en- gulfed in flames. The officers tried in vain to open the crumpled and fiery doors, to no avail.
Officer Lopez utilized his ASP baton and smashed the window, which allowed the officers to extricate the victim from her vehicle. The officers carried the victim
to safety. The Chicago Fire Department arrived on scene and extinguished the wreckage, which would have been the vic- tim’s fiery coffin if it had not been for these officers’ heroic and selfless actions.
It is with great appreciation that the Fraternal Order of Police Chicago Lodge 7 presents the Life Saving Award to these officers.
