Kanoon Elementary School’s chess club welcomed CAPS offi- cers from the 10th District to take part in a Cops & Kids tourna- ment in February. Despite the serious faces of concentration, students and officers enjoyed the friendly competition and showed how simple programs can make for great moments.
NBA All-Star Weekend
When the NBA and a whole slew of celebrities, including LaRoyce Hawkins from NBC’s po- lice drama “Chicago PD,” invaded the city for All-Star Weekend 2020, Chicago Police Officers were right there — sometimes even courtside — to keep an eye on things and score a few photos.

Boxes of diapers and bags of clothing flood- ed the 19th District’s CAPS office in a good way, after the district’s CAPS team ran a di- aper drive to benefit the women and chil- dren served by the Lakeview-based Open Door Youth Shelter.
