"As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God." 1 Peter 4:10 (KJV)
"...Let all things be done decently and in order." I Corinthians 14:40 (KJV)
It is repeatedly stated in the bible that God wants and expects his people to serve others and it be done in a proper and orderly manner. A good Ministry of Helps program sustains, provides and allows the ministry and vision God has given the Pastor to proceed in a proper and orderly manner. A Pastor can preach an anointed sermon, but if the people in your MOH program are not doing their jobs, the church body may not have the opportunity to receive your message and visitors may not want to come back. Putting the right helps person in the right position is crucial in having a successful MOH program. If you have the same person doing the same helps position over and over every week, than your MOH program is not perform- ing properly. It is a sign that a church is not utilizing all its members' gifts to do God's work. Many people in church want to help but the church doesn't know how to get them involved and the people do not know how to use their talents and gifts to get involved.
People can be on the bus... but are they in the right seat.
Connecting Your Vision's MOH (CYV-MOH) program was designed just for that purpose, it takes a church members' skills, talents and ministry desires and places them in a helps ministry position that best fits their God given talents. The CYV-MOH program is designed to set up unlimited categories of helps ministries needed for the entire church, from helps needed for church services, helps needed for special events, helps needed for church maintenance, helps needed for media, graphic arts, networking, worship, outreach, landscaping, construction, plumbing, electrical, painting, the categories can be anything and everything the church needs to run properly. Utilizing all your church members' skills and talents can also save the church thousands of dollars due to not having to pay for many necessary services required in a church, while at the same time satisfying the God given desires in each church member to use their talents for God and his Church.
The CYV-MOH program also encourages using a rotation schedule to make sure that every helps minister's position has the opportunity to also sit in and enjoy a church
service and not feel as if they are coming to work every Sunday or weekday service or special event. Although being in the helps ministry is important, it is also as important that church members also are able to continue to be spiritually fed and enjoy their church service, we must not forget that is why they started coming to your church.
Do not use the word volunteer, replace the word "volunteer" with "Helps Minister" or something similar. Volunteers can come and go as they please, no commitment, a minister takes pride in their chosen Helps Ministry of helping and serving God and their church.
