P. 13
The key element in growing a church is to go with the vision God has given you. Over the years, I have seen many so called - Church Model Plans - in other words, you need to do it “this way or that way”, really the only plan is to follow the vision. A Church Model Plan will change the vision God has given you, stick to the vision.
This is why you do not see Connecting Your Vision coming out with a Church Model Plan. Every church is different because of their vision. What works in one church does not mean it will work in another the same way. I have been asked many times over the years, “Why”. For one simple reason, the Vision is different.
We have shared about infrastructure. Infrastructure is created by implementation. Implementation is: the process of putting a decision or plan into effect; Execution. Execution is the biggest key for Church Growth.
The Key is to take the Vision, apply the process of putting a plan into effect and then Execute it. We see many times this not happening, for whatever reason, and this is the key component in building HIS house.
Acts 2:45-47 (KJV)45. And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need. 46. And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, 47. Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.
As you can see from the above scriptures, it takes whatever it takes! As long as You, the Pastor, do all the work, your congregation will sit back and watch you do it. You need to mobilize your congregation to go into the com- munity and talk about and invite people to your church. Utilizing the Ministry of Helps with your congregation will help build your church.
Pastors need to talk about what God is doing from the platform with their congregation.
Have regular testimonies.
Encourage your people to bring somebody, (please do not apply so much pressure in this area or your
congregation will not move on this). I have heard many Pastors say to bring someone every week, this does n not work.
Teach your Congregation how to minister to people. They are ministers of the Gospel, and your congregation will in return tell the people where they have heard the word of God.
Ask yourself why Easter and Christmas services have more attendance than a regular Sunday service. It is because we put more emphasis-advertising into these services, but, why? Jesus is alive every day!
Build up every Sunday service just like it is a holiday. If you AIM at nothing, you will hit nothing.
Stats, Stats, Stats, Stats
Pastors--get the statistics or stats on all your departments every week. Apply the pressure on these stats to your leaders. The world is run by stats, the game of numbers. When this is not being executed, then there is no empha- sis on growing each department. Your Church will grow when your leaders know that you know what is going on.
