   CELEBRATING THEIR 36TH BIRTHDAY
The Old Dominion Decorative Artists (ODDA) from Richmond, Va. celebrate their 36th birthday this year. Several members, including two
of the five charter members, Diane Berg and Phyllis Hosier, attended the celebration. All members enjoyed learning how the chapter began and certainly appreciate how the chapter continues to celebrate art of all genres today. Currently, ODDA includes members from the greater Richmond
area, Fredericksburg, Williamsburg, and Maryland. After lunch, cake, and the awarding of two door prizes (a seminar certificate to Connie Palmer and artist’s pens to Maureen Lintott), the group was given an escorted tour of the Abby Aldridge Folk Art Museum in Colonial Williamsburg. Both the celebration and the tour gave us pause to consider a broader range of artistic perspectives, reflect on our personal creative journeys and gratitude for having a chapter to bring us all together.
        GATEWAY DECORATIVE ARTISTS
Gateway Decorative Artists had their monthly meeting in September which was wrapped around football. The chapter had themed treats from snacks to good ol’ football-decorated cupcakes! Spencer Meagher was their special guest of honor and he demonstrated a beautiful piece of art. Spencer has found a way to express himself through his love of art and is able to have the opportunity to
travel all over the country from teaching to showing his work. Spencer was so generous to leave the beautiful piece of art for
the chapter, which they will either raffle off or sell. Proceeds will go to supply a wonderful cause for their local USO with snacks and treats as they come through for the holidays. The USO is one of the favorite charities that the chapter loves to support all year long!
