 TENDRILS
I love to paint tendrils, they show motion and flow in a painting. They are painted according to the way they flow and catch the light. Think of painting ribbon when you paint these using the green values. I listed a liner brush, but if you are more comfortable with another brush, then use that one.
GLAZING
When the painting is completely dry, I look for any areas that need an extra touch of color, a stronger shadow, or a brighter highlight. Moisten the area with very little Winsor & Newton Blending and Glazing Medium on your brush. With a different brush, float a minuscule amount of paint in the area you wish to glaze. Only do a small area at a time as Blending and Glazing Medium is only workable for a short time.
VARNISH
When totally dry, remove any dust with the tack rag. Varnish with several light coats rather than thick heavy coats. Set a timer to one hour. DO NOT exceed, or you risk cracking and wrinkling the painting.
Hold the can about 10 inches from the surface, spray side to side, making sure to spray beyond the sides. Turn the surface a quarter and spray cross-spray, using the same method. Do this a total of four (4) times.
Let dry 10-15 min, or until it is dry enough to tack. Repeat this process as many times as possible in one hour, around 3-5 times, depending on the humidity level.
