upholds modesty and modesty. Javanese culture, apart from being found in Central Java,
Yogyakarta, and East Java, is also found in overseas Javanese areas, namely in Jakarta, Sumatra,
and Suriname. In fact, Javanese culture is one of the most popular cultures in Indonesia abroad.

               Belief System

Javanese culture also produces a mindset for the Javanese community itself, namely
Kejawen. Kejawen contains the arts, culture, traditions, rituals, attitudes and philosophies of the
Javanese people. Kejawen also has the meaning of spiritualistic or spiritualistic Javanese tribe. But
the majority of Javanese today adhere to Islam and a small number of Javanese adhere to
Christianity or Catholicism. In the past, the Javanese adhered to Hinduism, Buddhism, and
Kejawen. Even the Javanese participated in spreading Hinduism and Buddhism with a number of
Javanese Hindu-Buddhist kingdoms playing a role. The Javanese also participated in spreading
Islam and Christianity or Catholicism in Indonesia. The Javanese are unique because they are the
only tribe in Indonesia that plays an important role in spreading the 5 major religions. A US
researcher Clifford Geertz has even studied the Javanese and divided the Javanese into 3 major
groups, namely: Abangan, Priyayi, and Santri.

               Language

Javanese people usually use Javanese in daily conversation. The Javanese language itself has
several levels depending on who the conversation is with. That level is "ngoko" which is a slightly
harsh language used to someone who is at a lower level. Then "krama madya", which is the
Javanese language used for people who are equal, and "krama inggil" which is the language used
for people who are older or respected.

"Javanese script has 20 letters, namely ha, na, ca, ra, ka, da, ta, sa, wa, la, pa, dha, ja,

ya, nya, ma, ga, ba, tha, nga."

This means that there are two faithful envoys who fight each other equally powerfully and
               both die.
