GIL
HENRY
VP, Finance
Gil Henry, Vice President Studio Sourcing & Strategy, and
Studio Operations PMO & Finance, joined the Walt Disney
Company in 2006 and the Walt Disney Studios in 2007. Gil
started his career with Price Waterhouse in New York City. Gil
later moved on to careers in finance (Sony USA, Barnes &
Noble and Honeywell) and turn-around leadership positions
(Sony Electronics and Barnes & Noble).
Gil attended law school at Boston University, where he was
Editor-in-Chief of the Law Review. After law school, Gil was Sr.
Vice President Finance and General Counsel at Beliefnet in
New York. Gil then practiced law as an entertainment litigator
and entertainment transactional lawyer, where his clients
included many of the Studios.
One such client was Disney, and after a successful litigation,
Gil joined Disney’s Corporate Legal department, where he led
the Finance team. Gil then joined the Studio’s Studio
Operations team, and eventually has taken on Studio-wide
roles in Sourcing and Strategy, in addition to his Studio
Operations PMO and Finance responsibilities.
Gil also devotes his energy to mentoring and volunteer
activities. He is a multi-year recipient of the U.S. President’s
Volunteer Service Award, mentors individuals in Studio
Operations and the broader Studio, and was recognized by his
alma mater with the Alumni Citation Award for Service and
Professional Achievement.
