Fulneck School
CHSF was voted Fulneck School’s
charity of the year for 2017/2018 as
a number of students have personal
connections with, and have been
supported by, our charity.
Through non-uniform days, tuck shops, raffles, hand
delivering flowers with messages for Valentine’s Day
and a staff team entering the Kapow! Obstacle race
at Temple Newsam the school raised over £4,000 for
CHSF. A fantastic achievement!
Earlier this year, the School visited the Children’s
Cardiac Ward at the LGI. They were introduced to
patients and were able to see for themselves the
incredible difference their money will make.

Emma Brook & Rebecca Auty
Emma & Rebecca organised another
amazingly successful family fun day in aid of
CHSF.
Emma said “From my 20 week scan the heart unit at
LGI have been there to support us. This is why CHSF is
the charity that means the most to us.”
“We’ve stayed in accommodation, Alfie has played on
the ward with toys provided by CHSF, and he has an
INR home testing kit funded by the Charity.”
The Scott Family
Oliver Scott was born with Tetralogy of
Fallot so to say thank you to Children’s Heart
Surgery Fund who have helped Oliver since
he was born, his parents Lorraine and Chris
organised yet another fundraising event in support of
CHSF!
For Chris’ 50th Birthday he asked for donations to be
made to the family’s fundraising events and held not
one, but two casino evenings.
Chris said: “CHSF do amazing work and this is our way
of giving something back.”

The Heart Helpers
The Heart Helpers are a group of 10 year olds who
live in North Lincolnshire and all go to the same
school.
Inspired by a sibling of one of the Helpers, the girls
decided they should raise awareness and money for
the charity that had done so much for their friend’s
sister and family.
They spent much of their Summer holiday organising
table top sales, baking for cake sales, making
bracelets and slime, running the Humber Bridge Run
and making awareness leaflets.
They involved their whole community
and worked so hard to support CHSF.
Well done to the amazing Heart
Helpers - you should all be so proud
of your achievements!
The Cook Family
The Cook Family organised a Coffee
& Cake afternoon with games, stalls
and a raffle for CHSF. If that wasn’t
enough, Barclays Bank also agreed to
match fund all the money raised!

The McDonald Family
Emma McDonald organised two incredibly successful
charity balls, most recently Louie & Freddie’s
Celebration Ball, which have in total raised over
£25,000 for CHSF.
Emma’s sister also arranged for 21
kids to do the Junior Warrior this year
which raised another £2,000!
Emma said: “We chose to fundraise
for CHSF following our son Freddie’s
diagnosis of Aortic Stenosis when he
was 2 and a half.”
“CHSF has supported us during both Freddie’s open
heart surgeries and I am very happy we have been
able to contribute especially knowing that Freddie is
likely to need future operations.”

Wear Red Day
Once again we’ll be turning the region red
for our flagship fundraiser Wear Red Day!
On February 1st wear something red to show
your support of congenital heart disease.

We were delighted to welcome Leeds
On 6 October, 27 of the icelolly.com United stars Adam Forshaw and Kalvin

30th Anniversary Ball
We would like to say a massive thank you to all our

The aim of the #AllLeedsAllHeart
campaign is to raise funds to purchase
vital medical equipment, including
Super Life-Support Machines and a
dialysis machine.
