Based on my observation, there are still a few of my
friends that possess low English proficiency in this
university. I am not saying that they need to be fluent
like the native speakers. The point is they need to be
fluent enough to communicate with their future
colleagues. As our country is developing, the competition
to score a seat on a job is difficult. If the fresh university
graduates possess low proficiency level, it may affect
their chances to start a new chapter of their life. This is
the reason why I choose Teaching English as a Second
Language (TESL) as my major in university. I would love
to facilitate other students to be able to spread their
wings all across the globe without minding the words of
hate that could clip their wings.
