Cabinet Services Overview

All hard copy CIC material must be stored in a locked cupboard when not in active use, or securely
destroyed when no longer required.
All permanent hard copy CIC material required for retention must be stored on a red Cabinet Series File
available from Cabinet Services. Associated non‐CIC documents should be kept on a departmental file with
appropriate file notes.
CIC documents should not be saved to the H:drive or to personal computers.
A “Cabinet Folder” in the shared drive and Lotus Notes must be created to store all CIC documents.
CIC material should only be emailed within the department. Emails must not be emailed to DELWP
agencies e.g. Parks Victoria or to other departments.
‘Cabinet in Confidence’ should be included in the subject of all emails.
All CIC email folders must be regularly reviewed and documents deleted to prevent archiving.
