Keep on Moving
For those of us that sit for extended periods throughout the day, getting a chance to fit in movement can be a
challenge. Here are some ways that you can fit some more movement into your busy day:
Hold a walking meeting
Go for a short walk whilst on your mobile
Have a glass of water at your desk that requires you to refill approx. every
hour
Get up and chat to your colleague in person (rather than email or call)
Set a recurring reminder on your phone or computer to stand and stretch
Fit in a brief walk at lunch time (possibly with a colleague)
When catching public transport get off one stop early and walk the extra
Movement every 60-90 minutes helps to maintain good circulation, reduces eye strain, decreases muscles
shortening, and reduces accumulating pressure on the lower spine, neck & shoulders.
Couple these opportunities for movement throughout your day with some gentle stretches to help reset your posture,
reduce aches, pains & strains & keep your concentration during your workday.
