4.2 Realigning our workforce
Approximately 50 per cent of the Planning Group's funding is initiatives based, therefore the target
composition will vary and is based on current forward estimates.
It is noted that multiple divisions within the Planning Group underwent restructures in late 2017, which has
resulted in changes to staffing profiles. Further target adjustments will be made following the recent transition
of the Fishermans Bend Taskforce and Cladding Taskforce to the Planning Group, and staff funded through
2018-19 Budget funded initiatives.

4.3 Key stakeholders
The following table sets out Planning’s key stakeholder relationships.

Key stakeholders Relationship
Communities We work to build better relationships with the communities we serve and engage the
community to have their say in planning processes through Planning Panels Victoria and
invite input to programs through Engage Victoria and face to face, on the ground
consultation.
Aboriginal Victorians We deliver our commitment to Munganin-Gadhaba through our work, and actively engage
with Traditional Owners in important land use planning and decision making for areas that
are of cultural significance. We proudly work with the University of Melbourne in delivering
the DELWP Diversity and Inclusion Scholarship.
Victorian councils We work with Victoria’s 79 councils to administer their requirements under the Planning and
Environment Act 1987 and in policy development to help them to plan for growth and
change.
Industry and peak We work with industry, planning consultants, peak bodies, research institutes and
bodies universities. These relationships include research, policy and strategy development,
capacity building, program implementation and funding support. Our key stakeholders
include the Planning Institute of Australia, the Victorian Planning and Environmental Law
Association, the Urban Development Institute, the Property Council and the Municipal
Association of Victoria.
