This project focuses on optimizing operations in the central warehouse of the “Dead Sea Works.” The initial phase involved a literature review, a comprehensive analysis of current processes and the identification of inefficiencies. Using the ‘Pareto principle’, critical inventory items were ranked and forecasting techniques estimated expected demand. The ‘economic order quantity’ (EOQ) model was applied to determine optimal order quantities and ‘reorder points’ (ROPs), improving inventory management. Additionally, cost analyses and simulations were conducted to assess potential operational enhancements. Our proposed strategies are designed to minimize inventory holding costs, streamline logistics and generate substantial cost savings - ultimately improving warehouse efficiency and performance.

This project was designed to streamline the manufacturing process of GrowSphereTM MAX controllers at “Gazi Industries,” a “Netafim” subcontractor. Our main goals are to improve efficiency, reduce costs and improve quality control. Work sampling was used to determine employee workload, standard production times and to identify bottlenecks. Demand forecasting models were implemented to estimate the annual demand rate, on the basis of which we determined an optimal inventory policy to minimize storage costs. Quality control analysis assessed defect rates, leading to targeted improvements. Expected results include: increased production capacity; cost savings and a reduction in defective units - ultimately improving the overall efficiency and performance of the manufacturing process.
