though it still has all its bristles. When the bristles are bent, they
can no longer scrub at all. Replace it at that point. Avoid excess
pressure when using a brush for that very reason. Use the tips
of the bristles to scrub with—don’t press so hard that the bristles
are splayed from side to side.
Tile brush. A large brush with stiff synthetic
bristles. Used to scrub the tile and grout in
the shower. Also used in the tub itself and in
the bathroom sink. Scrub with the tips of the
bristles as mentioned with the toilet brush,
above.
White scrub pad/sponge ("white pad"). Used
when a cleaning cloth isn't strong enough.
Carry it in a lined apron pocket so moisture
doesn’t get the apron (and you) wet.
Sh-Mop. The Sh-Mop uses a flat
rubber surface (a full 8 by 15 inches)
covered with a removable, reusable,
and washable terry cloth or
microfiber cover (called Sh-wipes).
The Sh-Mop is three to four times
faster than even an excellent sponge mop. It also gets the floor
cleaner, reaches into corners better, and cleans under the edges
of appliances. The covers are tossed into the wash after use. The
versa-pole collapses to a shorter size for smaller trunks. A clean
microfiber Sh-wipe makes cleaning walls and wood paneling a
breeze.
Floor Cleaner. Most housecleaning companies prefer liquid
cleaners that don’t need rinsing. Sh-Clean is one brand that is
safe and effective. No rinse, streak free cleaning saves hours of
time and frustration.
Ammonia. Used to clean floors if your company prefers it. You
may be expected to know which floor cleaner to use on different
customers’ floors. Be sure to ask if you’re not sure.
