elementary and K-8 site. Kindergarten classrooms will be reconfigured or newly constructed

kindergarten play area will be appropriately separated from the rest of the campus with a
secure fence and will have 1200 square feet of dedicated shade. The following loading standards (per classroom) were used for
planning purposes:
Learning Center (LC) & Resource Specialists (RSP)
A Learning Center is included at each site. The Learning Center is comprised of a Speech TK and Kindergarten 24 students
Pathologist’s office, a Psychologist’s office, an IEP conference room, a flex office and a small 1st - 3rd Grade 24 students
group area. These program spaces total 1,100 square feet. 4th - 6th Grade 30 students
7th - 12th Grade 31 students
The Learning Center is ideally located near administration or central to the campus where it
is readily accessible to students. It is intended to provide flexibility to support programs that
have changing populations of students that need small group space.
Adjacent to the Learning Center is a 480 square foot Resource Specialist (RSP) room. By
collocating these two functions, two small group spaces are readily available for use.
Project-Based Learning
An Art/Science Lab and a Maker Space are included at each site to promote project-based
learning. Each of these classrooms will have 200 square feet of dedicated storage.
Music Classroom
A 1200 square foot Art/Science Lab and a 1200 square foot Maker Space are included at
each site to promote project-based learning. Each of these classrooms will have 200 square
feet of dedicated storage.
Innovation Lab
Each site will have one 1200 square foot Innovation Lab adjacent to the Library/Media Center.
This space is a technology-rich computer-based space. As the educational environment
transitions toward one-to-one student device atmospheres, the purpose of this room may
transition over time.
