$77 million in federal and state grants and matching funds by the City of McKinney and MEDC have been invested in
airport development since 2002 to support Business Aviation growth while preparing the airport for future commercial
air service options.
A state-of-the-art air traffic control tower operated by the City of McKinney.
The airport is operated by the McKinney Airport Development Corporation (MADC), which has a management con-
tract with the City of McKinney to maintain, develop, market and operate the airport. Day-to-day management is
conducted by an experienced, award-winning, professional staff.
Construction of the Replacement Runway (7,002’ x 150’) was completed in November 2012. A future 1,500-foot ex-
tension is planned when needed.
In McKinney, all of the property taxing jurisdictions provide the Freeport Exemption:

The majority of the airport property is located in a Federal New Market Tax Credit Zone “FNMTCZ”. This program
provides tax credits to encourage investments.
