Pass-by Noise, Simulation to Exterior
This session will give you an overview of all the possibilities available within the Brüel & Kjær, industry leading, pass-by system. You will learn how the system can be configured to meet your needs and see how the software user interface can help easily take you from setup to the report in a very short time. Attendees will also see Brüel & Kjær’s multiple vehicle pass-by system which enables several vehicles to run one after the other, making full use of the potential track testing time while still using the same stationary trackside setup.
Objectives
• Outline the main types of pass-by testing – exterior, in-door and simulation (predication)
• Understand the various standard used in pass-by
• How to scope an effective pass-by noise system and process
Prerequisites – Basic knowledge of acoustics, NVH and/or have taken Fundamental of Acoustics & Vibration.
Participants – This course is designed for those faced with pass-by noise issues, those facing new requirements and/or struggling with what pass-by noise means to their product. This class is open to those who use Bruel & Kjaer system and those that do not.
Rotating Machinery
Rotating machinery is all around us and we have many tools available to record and analyze acoustics and vibration of them. Tools like: Order Tracking, Envelope Analysis and Angular Vibration, just to name a few. This session will cover theory and application of specific measurement techniques that will unlock best practices to measure and understand the acoustics and vibration sources in your rotating equipment. There will be demonstrations on some rotating machines during the course as well as real world examples.
Objectives
• To give a basic understanding of signal analysis using FFT and Order analysis techniques
• To teach how to perform correct Signal analysis on non- stationary conditions, such as a run-up or machine shut down.
• Cover the measurement resolution and limitations related to test conditions and teach how to extract the best possible vibration or noise order data.
• Learn to use various diagnostic tools like Envelope analysis, Angular Vibration, Time Synchronous analysis, Order Tracking and others
• Learn about Structural analysis like ODS
Prerequisites – Basic knowledge and experience of vibration analysis, mathematics and physics. Basic knowledge of FFT signal analysis is advantageous recommended.
Participants – For those who need to understand rotating machinery noise/vibration analysis and its applications; because they are either working with or preparing to work with rotating equipment, or because they specify test and experiments using these techniques.
