INSTALLATION & STARTUP
Chapter 4 Trades
Plumbing Coordination Meeting
· Do a walk-thru with the Plumber, pointing out equipment requirements & site
specifications
· Make sure the Plumber is familiar with our terminology
· Provide the Plumber with the Schematic
· Make this manual available to the Plumber
· Thoroughly discuss site-specific requirements
· Thoroughly discuss installation material selections (Hose, stainless tubing,
rigid pipe, etc.)
· Discuss who is responsible for field supplied materials; such as High-pressure
hose assemblies
· Discuss who is responsible for final terminations.
Penetrating the Wall for Boom Utilities
This is where the electrical and plumbing utilities are routed from the equipment room to feed the
boom.
It is critical that this task is performed correctly! There can be NO rubbing or chafing
in this area. The movement of the Boom is such that, unless done properly, there is a
good chance the utility lines will pre-maturely wear or fail in this area if they are not
secured and protected properly.
Typically the wall should be penetrated with rigid components.
· We recommend using 1-1/2” rigid or thin wall conduit to route the electrical lines
from the equipment room to the boom. PVC can also be used if supported
properly.
· 3/4” stainless tubing or piping is preferred for the plumbing lines.
An optional “Thru-Wall Plate Kit” can be purchased to assist in routing the Saber® utilities from
the equipment room to the boom.
