Fall 2011 Forecast: Mark your calendars for

“The Perfect Storm” Golf and Campout!

t’s not often that schedules come together to create a great opportunity. By Richard McCrea ’72
IThe fall of 2011 has just that. How many times have you read in “The his year will be the 30th annual Tachi Classic, and golf tournament
Alpha Nus” about tailgating before a GT football game, news about the Tdirector Stan Thomas ’81 says, “It will be an event that all Alpha
house or the alumni camping trip and thought I wish I had been there Nu’s will want to attend. We will aim to break both attendance and
or I need to go next year? Well you can do that this year and all in the fund raising amounts while we have a good time for a good cause”.
same weekend of November 10 – 13. Kick it off with a Thursday night
under the lights at Bobby Dodd versus Virginia Tech. Now, that’s no
patsy and Sid can help with Tix. The next day you business travelers
can have a meeting or two and send the bill back to your boss. Later
that day it’s time to head to the Alumni camp site to join your brothers
for two nights of great fun. No extra packing here as McCrea, Kass,
Bret Hughes, Kevin Murray, etc. have extra gear. Could there be a
better “Perfect Storm”, sure with a promise of great weather? MARK
IT DOWN!
The 2011 football schedule has plenty of other opportunities to
enjoy a visit back to campus. It kicks off with a Thursday night tune up
versus Western Carolina. Homecoming is October 29 versus Clemson.
Come tailgate at the house and enjoy seeing lots of old friends. We will
be announcing the Friday night gathering place as those details become
available. Parents Weekend is September 24 versus North Carolina. We
have a tremendous number of brother’s with kids attending GT these
days and it will be a big turnout at the house.
GT away games are a great opportunity for brothers to get together.
Many have been organizing to take in these games. If you would like Your golf committee has decided on new rules for “low roster
some help connecting with other brothers in those regions, please number” brothers, expanding our new “buy a toast for brotherhood”
contact kbreedlove@thelaurusgroup.net for a contact list. program, and is considering the possibility of team play. The committee
welcomes all suggestions to enhance the tournament.

So, mark your calendars for golf on Saturday, July 9, 2011 ( a
Georgia Tech 2011 week earlier than normal ) as it will be a special time for all Alpha Nu
Brothers.
