2015 The Association of Zoos and Aquariums honored
our Volunteer Engagement program with Significant
Achievement in the organization’s first Volunteer Engage-
ment Award. The association’s website states: “The award
recognizes outstanding achievement in volunteer program
development and engaging volunteers in the overall mission
and operation of the organization.”
In 2020 the Volunteer Engagement program was supported
by the Women’s Board of the Chicago Zoological Society.
Each year, approximately 400 corporate volunteers
from a variety of companies contribute their time
and energy to community service at the zoo.
