SVMIC Telemedicine: Essentials of Virtual Care Delivery

The Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) is an

agreement among 29 states, the District of Columbia, and the
Territory of Guam. Within these jurisdictions, there is a total

of 43 different Medical and Osteopathic Boards licensing
physicians. Under this multi-state agreement, licensed

physicians can qualify to practice medicine across state lines
within compact member-states if they meet the agreed upon

eligibility requirements. Keep in mind that the IMLC does not

grant you licensure in each of the states, it “fast tracks” you to

qualify for a state licensure. Once licensed, you must maintain
the licensure in each state by paying fees, completing CME, and

other administrative requirements.
