Additional task – Split Element

Purpose: To understand how Function Split Element is used

1. Navigate to ”(01) Stue” in Project Browser and create a cross
section through the model between modules 6 and 7 via

View ► Section

Select Building Section in Properties Palette and create
section by clicking in the drawing area

2. It is seen that the exterior wall collides with the slab and the
floor to the canteen
If Attach Top / Base is used for the upper slab, there will be a
problem that the wall will be cut off for its entire length, which is
not desirable

PROBLEM BY USE OF ATTACH TOP / BASE

3. The solution is to split the wall into 3 elements by applying

Modify ► Split Element

Then, on the middle section, Attach Top / Base can be used
for the upper slab and use Align on the other two parts to make
the walls adjust sideways
