Counterflow gas-fired forced air furnace. When ducting is run under the floor and below the level of
the furnace, a counterflow circulation furnace is required. Specs are the same as for a conventional gas
furnace, but the furnace cost will be higher. Add the following to either conventional or perimeter gas
furnace costs.
Add for counterflow furnace to 125,000 Btu P1@3.50 Ea 213.11 138.80 351.91
Add for counterflow furnace over 125,000 Btu P1@6.00 Ea 635.29 238.00 873.29
Horizontal flow gas-fired forced air furnace. When space is restricted, a horizontal flow furnace
may be the best option available. Specs are the same as for a conventional gas furnace, but the furnace
cost will be higher. Add the following to either conventional or perimeter gas furnace costs.
Add for horizontal furnace to 125,000 Btu P1@2.50 Ea 165.64 99.18 264.82
Add for horizontal furnace over 125,000 Btu P1@4.75 Ea 577.72 188.40 766.12
Oil-fired forced air furnace. Furnace and duct costs will be the same as for a gas-fired furnace. But
add the following costs, which include storage tanks, gauge filter, vent and oil supply piping to the
furnace. Add the cost of excavation for buried tanks or sight-screen fencing for above-ground tanks.
275 gallon basement fuel tank P1@3.75 Ea 1,070.60 148.80 1,219.40
