fund card, handcraft papers, scissors, glue, play dough, balloons
Place: preschool class
Duration: 30 minutes
General Purpose:
1. Apply location-related instructions in a space
2. Saying the location of the object in space
3. Place the object in the right place in accordance with the instruction
Description of the Activity: Toilet paper and paper towel rolls, cardboard, handcraft
papers, scissors, glue are placed on the tables.Children are given the opportunity to
make rockets of their own creativity. The spacecrafts are placed on the cabinet and
exhibited. Play dough is placed on the other table and the children are guided to build
the Solar system. The teacher gives the children the spacecrafts they made and asks
questions such as: “Where is the space? Can we go to space with our spacecrafts?
The teacher says, “Let's put on our astronaut clothes and get on the spacecraft and
makes dressing gesture. She fires the spacecraft and runs into the so-called
space.The teacher puts the eight planets, stars, Moon and the Sun, which she had
prepared with cardboard, on the carpet appropriately. They roam among them and
finally land on a planet.Children pretend to walk in space. Since there is no gravity,
they walk slowly and as if they were flying. The teacher introduces children the
planets, stars and the Moon.Finally the children thank and ride their rockets back to
earth.
