of it. His owner had died and he hated the
world. The owner’s husband had tried hard
to live with him, but the dog was having
none of it, so he stayed with us and I don’t
think there were many days when one of
us did not get a nip. Then there is Danny.
He came to us from Battersea and I put
him in a home. They were terrified of him
and eventually he came back to us, and
several years later he is still with us. He bit
for Britain, but we did not know this at first,
and Di decided to adopt him. After much
work and patience with him, we now have
a little dog who is a joy to live with. I should
point out that this is a rescue and not a Before
refuge, but we do get dogs with problems,
and we are always prepared to try and help
if possible. Neither do I have kennels so all Charlie
the dogs come into the house with us so

that they can be assessed. This gives the
                                                                           through Rescue.
opportunity to find out what the dog is like,
and hopefully sort them out. It also helps us
match the right home to the right dog.
                                                             After
All the dogs that come into rescue are
signed over to it and when they go to
their new homes, the new owner is not
told where they have come from, and the
previous owners never know where the
dogs have gone. If we can find the breeder
of the dog then we will always try to contact
that breeder and offer them the opportunity
           of having the dog back.

The Scottish Miniature Pinscher Club now
           runs its own rescue.

Finally, I must thank all the people who
have helped me so much over the years.
