Isabel Woodhouse

My name is Isabel. I’m nearly 16 years old and I have
been showing since I was nearly 9 years old. I have
9 dogs, 7 Bichon Frisè’s, a German Spitz (Klein) and
an English Cocker Spaniel. My first ever showdog
was named Pippin (Avenir Breaking News at Bellapip
Sh.CM). Since I started showing Pippin at age 9, we
have received among many other achievements: 2 BIS
at Open Show level, 2 RBIS, 10 Toy Group 1’s and we
also won the YKC Stakes Toy final at Crufts this year.
A few of my best memories of dog showing are winning
the stakes final at Crufts this year with Pippin, showing
Pippin’s daughter and son (Phoebe and Bilbo) who
were both bred by myself, and my German Spitz (Klein)
,winning the CC and BOB at Bournemouth 2018.
Another great part about showing is the friendships that you make along the way,
I have so many close friends that I have met through dog showing, we have all grown up
together and are always willing to help each other out in any way. I can’t wait to continue

showing again after lockdown is finally over.

          Ellie Darling-Steele

My Name is Ellie, I am 12 years old, live in Glasgow and have been showing dogs for the last six
             years.

I started out showing my Gran’s Rhodesian Ridgeback named Tia, who was a big dog for a little
six year old to handle at the time. I remember my first open show was at Lanark, with a big entry
of about 14/16 in the junior handling class for six to eleven year olds. Needless to say I was not
placed, but it was a lot of fun, and this started me off on my dog showing adventures.
I had been a bit nervous going into the ring for the first time, but I had enjoyed it so much that I
just wanted to go to more shows and try to improve my handling. I therefore became a member
of The Young Kennel Club, as well as The Junior Handling Association.

Later, when Tia had puppies, my Gran kept one and named her Keira, allowing me to show her
in my handling classes, which has given me many memorable times with her over the last few
             years.
In July 2018 my Gran & Papa took me to see a litter of puppies which were ready to leave,
heading for their new homes. I had the best surprise ever, as I was asked would I like to choose a
Puppy! That day I brought Roxy home… my very own puppy!!! Another massive surprise came in
November 2019 when I was given another puppy of my own and I named her Lola.

Some of my most memorable achievements are: qualifying for Crufts and being placed as

                                                                                                                  85
