follows: 2018 3rd in YKC Handling 6-11 Years
and 3rd In Limit Bitch Breed class (out of 16
adults) both classes with Keira. 2019 4th In
YKC Handling 6-11 years with Roxy at only
8 months old (as Keira had to have an
emergency operation ten days before Crufts,
and The Kennel Club allowed me to take
Roxy as her substitute). 2020 3rd Special
Beginners Bitch Breed class with Roxy.
Qualifying for Scottish Junior Handler of
the Year 2017, 2018 and 2019. In 2017 I Sharufa Shadowing James ShCm Vw aka Keira
was shortlisted out of the 6-11 Years old
class and then placed 3rd overall out of
the 6- 16 years group class. In May 2019
The Scottish Kennel Club was my most
memorable Championship show. I was
placed 1st In YKC Handling 6-11 Years and
2nd in JHA 6-11 Years with Keira in both
classes.
In the following Rhodesian Ridgeback Breed
classes Roxy was placed 1st in Junior Bitch,
1st in Post Graduate Bitch, 1st in Best Special
Beginner Bitch and Best Special Beginner in Breed,
and qualified for Best Special Beginner in the Hound
Group, but unfortunately was not placed. With these
results Roxy qualified for Crufts 2020 ….. What an exciting and
special day that was for us!
As I turned 12 in November 2019 I moved up to the 12-17 year old class for YKC and JHA
handling classes. My first Championship show was LKA in December 2019 and I was placed 4th
out of 14 in the JHA class. I then attended the Caledonian Canine Society show in February 2020
and was placed 1st out of 16 in the YKC class, which qualified me for Crufts 2021. I was amazed
to be placed so well in two very strong classes, and I was also so very proud of my dog Keira !!!
On occasions, I have been asked to show Pugs, Tibetan Spaniels, Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers
and Border Terriers, and enjoyed the opportunity and the experience of other breeds.
For the last few years the Scottish Kennel Club have held the YKC Summer Weekend Training
Camp at Errol, and last year I was able to attend. We were given training advice on how to
handle our dogs in the show ring. Try out various activities, such as, obedience, agility, flyball,
tricks, heelwork to music to name but a few. I entered the obedience class for the first time and
to my surprise was placed 2nd. It was all a team effort and great spirit from all, which made it a
super weekend enjoyed by everyone. I even camped in a tent for the very first time with my friend
Danielle …. a time to remember .… even away for our shower at 5.30 AM!!! We could never wait
to see what was in store for us the next day. A huge thank you to everyone who took the time to
organise such a special and memorable weekend for us all to enjoy.
Over the last six years I have really enjoyed my time attending dog shows in Scotland, travelling
to Championship dog shows in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, also attending club events,
training days and much much more. Again huge thank you to all the well organised Clubs,
Judges, Stewards and everyone involved putting on such wonderful events. During this time I
have met lots of amazing people, also making some wonderful friends.
