Tell My Story

One of the people that are most certainly pursuing their God-given gift, has to be Muhle
Ndwalane. Here at Urban Zenna, we believe in sharing your story for various reasons, to
inspire and to be informed of the reality of our society, just to mention a few. To start off, we
will be sharing with you the story of Muhle Ndwalane and we hope that you will learn a thing
               or two, from his experiences.

Muhle was born and raised in Port Shepstone which is where he also studied his lower
grades. He continued his schooling at Adams College, Durban, where he was a border. It was
at this point, where he gained exposure to different people, cultures, and opportunities. Being
a sports person, when his parents could no longer afford to fund his schooling, him being a
member of the schools soccer team pulled through for him as that enabled him to continue
studying and staying at Adams until the completion of his matric.
He then went on to further his studies at the University of KwaZulu Natal (UKZN). Having
initially planned to study Computer Science, he had to register for Bcom Information
Systems and Technology as his points did not add up, but planned to change to Computer
Science eventually. As fate would have it, he found that Bcom is actually where he fits in, a
               blessing in disguise.

Muhle then started joining organisations on campus, his first being Isibani. With Isibani, he
was part of career guidance talks that took place in and around the community and several
schools around Durban. His motivation behind this was his own personal experience, being
the lack of information available for high school students when preparing for Tertiary, the
choices and the transition from high school to Tertiary.

Having also been very passionate about graphic design, he started doing online courses on
graphic design during his first year at University and got his certificate for the course. He
then started offering his services to people for free as means to get experience in the field and
create a client base. In hopes to expand his client base, he joined Azania, a fragrance
company, and started selling perfumes on campus. This gave him a chance to work on his
ability to interact, was able to network and manage his finances.

In his second year, he was selected for the UKZN Impi under 21 team which is a UKZN
soccer team. In the same year, he joined Enactus which is an organisation that uses
entrepreneurship as a tool to address various social issues. In June, he had to choose between
USSA, soccer and attending an Enactus camp. He chose, Enactus which is when he decided
to fully commit to Enactus and detached himself from soccer, especially as the both would
clash quite often. From that moment onwards it’s been all about learning and growing as he
has occupied a few offices and now has been appointed as the president of Enactus.

Muhle has been chosen to represent UKZN and Enactus on various platforms such as
projects hosted by Unilever, Harmony Gold, Barloworld and Nedbank, just to name a few. In
2018, He was the sole UKZN representative at Silicon Valley. Was later a part of the MTN
design thinking camp, which taught them how to develop products in the real world. After
this experience, he did campus-to-campus tours, sharing the knowledge he got from the boot
