Music
Aims: Music is a practical and knowledge-based subject, which allows students to develop
performance and composition skills as well as increasing their musical knowledge and aural
understanding.
Competencies: Performance Techniques; Composing music; Aural and theoretical skills;
Analyse music in depth; Instrumentation and Research.
Pathways this course contributes towards: Entry into Level 2 & Level 3 Music.
Other essential information: Students should be taking lessons on an instrument or voice and
have knowledge of basic theory of music. These can be private or itinerant through school.
